Existential considerations notwithstanding, I’ll be literal — basic, as the kids say. The writing collections hopefully are not.
Welcome to my site. I’m both glad and nervous that you’re here. I’m an occasional writer who’s been sporadically at it for my whole life. This site started as a professional portfolio. It wasn’t nothing for me to learn this platform, and that said, I have a superficial knowledge of it at best. Slowly one improves. But leave it alone for an extended time, and navigating this program is freshly unfamiliar. It certainly was for me at least.
I was a secondary school in Ontario for 25 + years. I spent many years teaching only English, but like a lot of teachers, I dabbled in other subjects and areas, like history, ELL, special education, and most recently, teacher-librarian. This site was born out of Teacher-Librarian Part 1, (an additional qualifications course for teachers) which I took online at Queens (the mid point of which was March 2020, not a good time), and decided to post some of my learnings here, to keep them organized and to look good for the prof (still can’t help craving that academic affirmation).
I do get a kick out of writing and muck around from time to time in prose, even less frequently in verse. I guess time, the inflexible boss that it is, and life hasn’t allowed me to get into it as much as I might crave. Now retired from teaching, I’ll have time for other endeavours.
This collection includes various pieces of mine from over the years. Like many other writing people, I have that proverbial novel in the works, and I may find the courage to post chapters and excerpts here.
Having a site where thousands and thousands of followers look forward to your posts (yeah, ummm…just experimenting with conscious manifestation theory) could scratch that creative itch and get me back into a regular rhythm of writing. With the ultimate goal of never needing to add an emoji.
Whatever this becomes, opinions are and mostly always have been my own (it seems there’s an expectation to qualify that these days) and fictional characters are just that — made up — and while they may resemble someone you know, they are not intended to represent any real person (per sae).

Thanks for being here.
